What to expect in a skilled nursing facility/rehabilitation center:
Professional nurses are available around the clock to identify changing health conditions as well as to provide the skilled nursing activities for health maintenance or healing. Nursing staff provide bedside assistance with activities of daily living such as grooming, toileting, dining, and ambulation to the degree required by the resident. Whereas service is abundantly and willingly provided, each resident is gently encouraged to use their remaining skills and capacities to maintain as much independence as possible. Individualized care planning focuses on not only what capacity has been taken away by illness and aging, but more importantly on what skills, abilities, and interests of the individual resident.
Meals are prepared carefully taking into consideration the resident’s eating preferences, the nutritional health of each person, and their therapeutic menu needs.
